So we finally did, with the incredible Haley Reinhart!. We stayed faithful to what Darlene Love made famous, right down to a nod to that iconic sax solo, and took it somewhere new. We'll be playing it every night on tour this December.

Smooth World — World Premiere
A few years ago, filmmaker Mickey Duzyj asked if he could follow me around for a while. I said yes. The result is Smooth World, a documentary about this music and the people who've kept it alive — and it premieres Wednesday, October 21 at the Newport Beach International Film Festival.
It catches me tangled up in my complicated relationship with the word "smooth," and it follows the search for who carries this music forward. Pat Prescott, Kirk Whalum, Norman Brown, Mindi Abair, Vincent Ingala, Alexander Zonjic, and Cory Wong are all in it. After the screening, Mickey sits down with Pat, Cory, Leatrice Allen, and me — then Cory and I close the night with a short set together.
