Spyro Gyra

QUICK
BIO
With a name jokingly derived from a biology paper, SpyroGyra
burst onto the national music scene in 1979 with their breakthrough
hit,
Morning Dance. They quickly parlayed their success
on the Buffalo, NY club scene into international success with
tracks like
Shaker Song and a relentless touring schedule.
Founder Jay Beckenstein had originally intended to be a producer,
but leftover studio time allowed him to record some of the songs
he'd been writing with his musical partner, keyboardist Jeremy
Wall. Since those early days, SpyroGyra has recorded over 25
albums, becoming known as one of the most commercially-successful
groups in music.
