from the world of music to help me in this endeavor including Chris Botti, Mindi

Over the years, I've been so blessed to have traveled the world, met many wonderful
people, experienced so much of what life has to offer. I've also been fortunate

Just back from the Smooth Jazz Cruise 2010 — and I want to say thank you
to the absolutely wonderful group of guests onboard the Westerdam. This
certainly was a special cruise, completely sold-out... the weather was
perfect, the music was extraordinary... and most importantly, we celebrated
the life of our dear friend Wayman Tisdale in high-style and spirit. I
think Tis would’ve been proud of all the music that was made in his memory
this past week! And what a blessing to have his wife Regina and kids Danielle
and Bubba on the ship as well.
Walking around the ship, I heard from many guests about me not being a part of
the Smooth Jazz Cruise in 2011 and how many of you missed the DK and Friends
cruise experience that we’ve shared the last four years. I want to thank you
so much for the encouragement and support, and for being there for me all these
years at sea... it means a ton to me. And I too missed being more involved in
this cruise. But I know I will continue to see many of you in the future as we
carve out some exciting new adventures that we can do together.

about a week as we unveil some extremely exciting news about a brand new project
for next year... one that has me so pumped I can barely keep my mouth shut!!

A New Years Message from Dave

As this new decade fast approaches, I want to take a quick moment to offer you my sincerest gratitude for the incredible memories and moments you have provided me in the last 10 years… it’s been quite the journey for sure!! And I’ve been absolutely thrilled to take it with you.
I hope you and yours had a beautiful, warm, and blessed holiday season, filled with love and fun. I had a great time seeing many of you out on our Christmas tour this year along with David, Brenda, Rick and Peter. We had a blast – a perfect wrap-up to an already HIGHLY memorable year! But I must admit, it feels good to be home and get a little rest!
And now… before we know it, it’ll be 2010... can you imagine it?! Wow. A whole decade with infinite possibilities.
For me, it’s all about a new recording – my first for Concord. Soon in January, I will be back in the studio commencing work on that new project – it will be wonderful to be in that creative space again and be able to share new music with you soon – so keep an eye out! The theme of this project is the future… and how it is ours, right here, right now… to make it what we want it to be. Without fear or trepidation. In other words… “Hello, Tomorrow.”
Whatever you have planned for your new year, I hope our paths can meet up during it… and until that time when we connect next, I want to wish you the most wonderful, happy and healthy 2010 – complete with continued blessings and love, dreams coming true and wonderful times with those you care about most.

"I was recently asked by my friend, Nashville-based producer/guitarist/composer Skip Ewing, to be a part of a project near and dear to his heart. He shared with me a story and images of Juliana Wetmore, a young girl he met who transformed his life and taught him many important lessons. Once I saw the spirit of this little girl come shining through, I knew it was a project I'd want to be involved with as well. Along with banjo-great Bela Fleck, the three of us combined our voices on this beautiful song that skip wrote. The music so poignantly complements the story of Juliana's journey and shows us (especially at this time of the year with the holidays approaching) what truly matters in life. Despite devastating physical challenges this "girl without a face" is teaching us all a whole lot and doing so in such a beautiful, touching and heartfelt way. I must say that these images can be a little graphic and jarring... but once you look beyond the surface and see the love and acceptance and joy coming through this amazing (and HUGE) spirit, I believe you too will be moved like we all were. I invite you to take a look at the video and listen to the song, and if so inclined, share it with the people closest to you in your life. Command Performance Presents: A Holiday Special For The Troops!

This holiday edition includes music performed live for the troops
by various artists including Aaron Lewis, Dave Koz, Flyleaf, Kellie

and Switchfoot.
One of the first artists to participate, Jazz artist Dave Koz was honored to
provide music for this special. "Especially at holiday time, our minds and

- A Smooth Jazz Christmas. On December 23, the tour wraps up
their holiday season at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal
City, CA. A portion of the proceeds will go to the L.A. Regional
Food Bank and any canned goods brought to the concert will be

Wanted to make sure you all got a chance to see this touching
video of Toby’s song he wrote in memory of Wayman Tisdale. He
kindly asked me to appear in the video which I was so happy to
do. It’s a very moving tribute to our dear friend who we all
miss so much. Please take a minute to watch this. The fact that
Toby Keith happens to be one of the biggest stars on the planet
likely means this will be seen by lots and lots of folks—leave
